It is important to understand that the electricity supplied to your home is delivered by “Distribution Network Service Providers” commonly referred to as “Distributors”.

How do distributors get paid?
Distributors recover their costs from the Retailer that bills you.
This includes a charge for your connection to the grid, as well as a charge for the amount of electricity you consume.
The amount they are a allowed to charge is regulated by the Australian Energy Regulator (“AER”).
